These North American Hardwoods each offer a distinct warmth and tone to compliment the fire mantel and can be stained, painted, or non altered at all as their natural beauty compliments any setting.
Fire mantel corbels made from polyurethane or resin can withstand higher temperatures and are require virtually no maintenance after installation as they will never chip, crack, or fade. Polyurethane and resin corbels are not recommended for supporting significant weight as they are primarily for decoration. Use wood corbels which are load-bearing to the degree that a solid block of wood its type and size would bear.
